# Exclude Multiple Tables from a ServiceNow Backup

Omit certain tables from the backup process to optimize performance, reduce backup duration, and avoid overloading the ServiceNow instance. Exclude various tables from backups, such as those that are non-critical, hold system data, or have restricted access.

From the Permissions Report page, you can select multiple tables together to exclude from the backup.

1. Select the checkbox to the left of the row of the tables or, to select all the available tables, check the checkbox to the left of the Item Type column.
2. Click Exclude.

The "Exclude from backup?" confirmation window appears.
3. Click Save.
