# Reauthenticate Services for Dynamics

Maintain backup and recovery operations when you reauthenticate a service so that it can access Dynamics with the correct permissions and credentials. You can restore access and functionality to resolve issues such as an inactive authenticated user or a revoked token.

You can re-authenticate a service for one of the scenarios:

- The backup encountered an authentication error.
- You want to change the authentication method.
- You want to change the Authenticated User or the Application User.

1. Select the backup service that encountered an error.
2. Go to the Dashboard tab.
3. Click Re-Authenticate Service.

You are prompted to select the relevant authentication method. For more information on the two authentication methods, see [Protect Your Data with Backup Services for Microsoft Dynamics](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=platform.br_o_microsoft_add_services.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Safeguard your critical business information by adding a backup service to your account. After selecting a service type and completing the initial setup, backups run automatically to give you peace of mind knowing your data is secure and recoverable.").
