# Dynamics Backup History Overview

The Backup History tab displays a comprehensive list of backups, including those with incomplete file downloads due to API limitations or errors.

The Backup History tab includes these columns:

| Column Name | Description |
| --- | --- |
| Status | The status of the backup (Success, Warning, or Error). |
| Type | The type of backup performed: synthetic full backup or full backup (see detailed descriptions below). |
| Started At | The date and time the backup was initiated. |
| Tag | Tags assigned to the backup. |
| Label | Labels assigned to the backup by the system or user. |
| Duration | The total time taken to backup the Data. |
| Size | The size of the backup. |
| API Calls | The number of API calls used during the backup process. |
| Bulk API Usage | The Bulk API Usage during the backup process. |
| Items | The number of Records backed up and the number of Files backed up. |

## Backup Types

Synthetic Full Backup: An incremental backup that merges with previous full or synthetic full backups to create an updated full backup. This backup reduces run time and API consumption, while maintaining all the benefits of a full backup.

Full Backup: A backup that copies the entire set of sObject data. While this backup takes longer than a synthetic full backup, done periodically, it ensures a high level of data integrity.

## Status Definitions

- Success : Data backed up successfully.

    Possible File statuses:

    - Files backup completed.
    - Files backup in progress.
    - Files backup partially complete (API limitation)..

        Note

        - The daily API limit has been reached before all the binary files were backed up. The binary files' backup continues on each consecutive day up to the daily API limit and until completion of the backup.
        - You can choose how to use the daily API limit in the most efficient manner. For example, you may decide to prioritize API calls for something other than the binary files.
        - For further information see [Managing API Consumption for Dynamics Backups](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=platform.br_o_microsoft_api_consumption.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Admins users can set limits for API consumption, for files and attachments downloaded via the REST API, in the Options menu.").
- Warning : The backup contain warnings.

The warning can be in the Data backup, the File backup or both.
- Error : The backup contains errors.

The error can be in the Data backup, the File backup or both.

## Export Backups to CSV

The option to export all backups to a CSV file is located on the Backup History tab.

For metadata, each metadata object is listed separately, as well as the package.xml file. Use any of these files to deploy metadata using your preferred Integrated Development Environment.

Note

- 1TB CSV Download Limit
- There is a 1TB CSV download limit. This limit can prevent you from running exports. You can use export-to-s3 option for large volumes of data. There is no size limit for exporting data to external endpoints.

## Filtering Backups

You can filter the backups with the following options:

- All backups
- Label
- Status - Warning
- Status - Error
- Status - Successful
