# Restricted Use of Uninstalled Connected App

Starting in early September 2025, Salesforce will restrict the use of uninstalled connected apps for third party apps.

If you already have existing connected apps that were authorized, they will not be affected by this change and you do not need to perform any other action at this time.

You may enhance your security controls over the connected app, depending on whether you have [API Access Control](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=xcloud.security_api_access_control_about.htm&type=5&language=en_US) enabled.

Please refer to the Salesforce Knowledge Article, [Prepare for Connected App Usage Restrictions Change](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=005132365&type=1&language=en_US). This gives detailed guidance on Connected App installation steps and security measures to allow only trusted users to access the Own connected apps.
