# Set Up Personal Notifications

Control email notifications you receive for Salesforce services, such as backups, jobs, data privacy, permissions, and alerts. Customize notifications for individual services to stay informed about the features that are important to you.

My Notification settings only affect the email notifications you receive as an individual. They don't affect other users in your account. Email notifications are configured either as a default for Salesforce Data and Salesforce Sandbox Data or for individual services.

1. Select My Notifications from the Personal area and select the Recover Tab.
2. From the table, select either: the defaults for Salesforce Data, Salesforce Sandbox Data or Salesforce Sandbox Metadata; or the individual Service to configure.
3. For Salesforce Data and Salesforce Sandbox Data, turn on notifications for Jobs, Permissions, and Alerts.
    1. Turn on specific notifications for Backups, by clicking the three dots.
    2. Turn on specific notifications for Data Privacy by clicking the three dots.
4. For Salesforce Sandbox Metadata, turn on notifications for Jobs and Alerts.
    1. Turn on specific notifications for Backups by clicking the three dots.
5. After configuring, click Save
