    - Field

You can filter by entering the Excluded name in the search box.
4. Enter an Exclusion Reason. If you select Other, add a comment.
5. Click **Save**.

If you try to create a rule for a table that can't be backed up, an error message appears.

If a rule for the same type and name already exists, the new rule isn't added.

## Verify a Backup Exclusion Rule

After a new exclusion rule is added, it affects your next running backup.

1. Go to the **Backup History** tab.
2. Select the backup you want to check.
3. Check the **Show empty sObjects** checkbox.
4. Enter the sObject name in the search box to show the backup exclusions.
5. To check that the rule was correctly applied to a field, click the number of records to download a CSV file of the records. In the CSV file, verify that the removed table no longer appears.

## Delete a Backup Exclusion Rule

1. Go to the service you want to modify.
2. Select the **Backup Exclusions** tab.
3. Select the rule you want to delete, and click the X icon at the end of the row.
