# Export a Backup to a Microsoft Azure Blob

Export your Salesforce backup data to a Microsoft Azure blob, so that you can store data externally for additional backups or integrate with other services. Exporting to Azure blob storage can facilitate the use of archived data in external reports, which can help with data analysis and reporting storage.

Before users can upload data to Microsoft, an Azure blob container must be created to store the data. Perform the following:

- Create a blob container for storing the data. For more information, please review the following [Microsoft support article](https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/storage/blobs/storage-quickstart-blobs-portal).
- Create a new Azure endpoint in Backup & Recover.

Note Own is not responsible for data exported to an external storage and cannot be held responsible for the security, privacy, or protection of data in any external storage. Users are responsible for their security and privacy outside of the Own Data Platform.

1. Navigate to the service to be exported.
2. Click Export.

    The Export Backup window appears.
3. On the Export to drop-down list, select Microsoft Azure Blob.
4. Select the endpoint.
5. Select whether to export All or Specific objectstables.

If Specific objectstables was selected, select which objectstables to export.
6. Click Export.

A warning message is displayed if the Azure Blob Container is not secure. If this occurs, please review the container configuration to better protect the data being exported. To proceed with the export, click Yes, export.
7. The export process starts and the Jobs tab is displayed.
8. Once the export job is complete, check the Azure blob container for the exported data.

The process for exporting a full backup from Backup & Recover to an Azure Blob Container is the same for Salesforce, ServiceNow, and Microsoft Dynamics. In this example, exporting from Backup & Recover for Salesforce is shown.
