1. Open the Flows list view.

    - From the Automation app, select the **Flows** tab.
    - From the **Flows** tab in any Lightning app, click the actions menu and select **Open Flow**.
    - From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Flows, and then select **Flows**.

Note that the Automation app and Flows tab options don't require Setup access.
2. Create a segment flow.

    1. From the Automation app or Flows tab, click **New**. Search for and select **Audience Flow**.
    2. From Setup, click **New Flow**. Search for and select **Audience Flow**.

The flow canvas opens with the start node added and the Select Source panel open on the right.
3. In the Select Source panel, select **Segment**.

The segment configuration options appear in the panel.
4. For Data Space, select **default** or another data space you've set up.

To learn about data spaces, see [About Data Spaces](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=data.c360_a_data_spaces.htm&language=en_US).
5. Optionally, for Data Graph, select the data graph you want to use.

To learn about data graphs, see [Data Graphs](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=data.c360_a_data_graphs.htm&type=5&language=en_US).

The flow opens in Flow Builder.
6. Schedule when you want the flow to run.
    1. Click **+Set Schedule**.
    2. Specify whether to run the flow once or on a recurring basis.
    3. Specify whether to start the flow at a specific date and time, or to run immediately.
    4. If sending the flow once immediately, close the Set a Schedule panel. Otherwise, set the date, time, and time zone.
    5. If sending the flow once at a specific date and time, close the Set a Schedule panel. Otherwise, set how often to run the flow and whether you want it to run on weekends.
    6. Set the re-entry conditions for the recipients.
    7. Close the Set a Schedule panel.
7. Specify the recipients that receive the messages.

    1. Click the Start element.
    2. Click **+Select Segment**.
    3. Select the segment of recipients that you want to use.

To learn about segments, see [Create Segments in Data 360](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=data.c360_a_segments.htm&language=en_US). For Data 360 API activation, pick a segment that's built on the data model object you selected for activation membership during API activation creation.
    4. Specify when to update the segment information. Segment data updates whenever it's republished. To keep the segment’s normal publishing schedule, select **On the segment’s publish schedule**. To override the segment’s publishing schedule and republish the segment before the flow runs, select **Immediately before running this flow**.
    5. Select an activation template. If the segment type is Unified Individual, then selecting an activation template is optional but recommended. Without an activation template, the flow uses more expensive Data 360 queries to derive contact points, which increases credit consumption. To learn more about activation templates, see [Activation Templates](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=data.c360_a_activation_template.htm&language=en_US). To optimize queries, when you configure the activation template, follow these recommendations:

    - For the activation template's **Source Priority Order**, select the source that matches the Data Source of the data stream that the data comes from. For example, if the Data Source of your Lead data stream is Salesforce\_Home, select Salesforce\_Home.
    - For the email address path, use `Contact Point Email.Party > Individual.Individual Id, Individual.Individual Id > Unified Link Individual.Individual Id, Unified Link Individual.Unified Individual Id > Unified Individual.Unified Individual Id`.
    - For the phone path, use `Contact Point Phone.Party > Individual.Individual Id, Individual.Individual Id > Unified Link Individual.Individual Id, Unified Link Individual.Unified Individual Id > Unified Individual.Unified Individual Id`.

    1. Optionally, set the contact point priority order for the flow to use with each individual that's referenced in the flow. To learn about contact points and priority order, see [Contact Points and Source Priority Order](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=data.c360_a_contact_points.htm&language=en_US).
8. Optionally, set exit rules for when a segment member should leave the flow and stop getting messages.
    1. Next to Exit Rules, click **Edit**.
    2. Click **+Add Exit Rule**.
    3. Add conditions for when a segment member should stop receiving messages from the flow.
9. Click ![Plus icon used to add an element or action.](https://sf-zdocs-cdn-prod.zoominsoftware.com/tdta-platform-platform_automation-264-0-0-production-enus/60568438-ec7e-4665-acd1-7c80dcbe60d5/platform_automation/images/flow/automate_flow_build_example_update_records_send_reminders/automate_flow_build_example_update_records_send_reminders_plus.png) and select Action. In the action panel, add elements to your flow to perform the actions you want. For example, to send an email, add a Send Email Message element. To use an API activation, add a Send to Data 360 Activation element. You can add multiple Send to Data 360 Activation elements to a flow. For more information about elements available only for marketing flows, like segment-triggered flows, see [Flow Builder Elements for Marketing Flows](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=platform.flow_ref_elements_mktg.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "A Flow Builder element represents an action that a flow can run. Examples include decisions based on criteria and creating and deleting Salesforce data. Some Flow Builder elements are available only in Marketing or Data 360, such as Send Email Message and Send SMS Message.").
10. Save the flow.
11. Test the flow with debug and then activate it.
