# `$Flow` Global Variables Flow Approval Processes Resource

Some `$Flow` global variables provide information about the orchestration run associated with a parent approval submission. Some variables contain system-provided values. You can update the other variables throughout the flow approval process by storing output values in the variables. Because flow approval processes don't support Assignment elements, flow approval processes don't support any global variables that are assigned values with the Assignment element.

| `$Flow.CurrentDate` | Running Flow Interview > CurrentDate | Date when the flow interview executes the element that references the global variable. |
| `$Flow.CurrentDateTime` | Running Flow Interview > CurrentDateTime | Date and time when the flow interview executes the element that references the global variable. |
| `$Flow.CurrentRecord` | Running Flow Interview > CurrentRecord | Not supported for Flow Approval Processes. |
| `$Flow.CurrentStage` | Running Flow Interview > CurrentStage | Not supported for Flow Approval Processes. |
| `$Flow.FaultMessage` | Running Flow Interview > FaultMessage | System fault message that can help flow administrators troubleshoot run-time issues. |
| `$Flow.InterviewGuid` | Running Flow Interview > InterviewGuid | Unique identifier for the interview. |
| `$Flow.InterviewStartTime` | Running Flow Interview > InterviewStartTime | Date and time when the flow interview started. For a flow launched by a Subflow element, `$Flow.InterviewStartTime` indicates when the initial parent flow started. |
