# Task Types in Agentforce Operations

Choose the task type that matches the work you want to accomplish. Learn how to create standard tasks, approval tasks, and email notification tasks.

Agentforce Operations has four task types. Each type has a different purpose and configuration panel.

 
| Task Type | Use When |
| --- | --- |
| Standard | You want to assign work, collect information, or route a decision to a person, team, role, or AI agent. If you assign the task to an AI agent, the task must have a saved plan before you can publish the blueprint. | Approval | You want a formal approval step with a defined action if the approver rejects. |
| Email | You want to send an automated email at a point in the workflow. Email is an automation task type, accessed from **\+ Automation** in a stage. |
| Integration | You want to connect the workflow to an external application. Integration tasks are automation task types, accessed from **\+ Automation** in a stage. |
