## Create a Field from the Fields Page

Add a reusable custom field from the Fields tab so it's available across all blueprints.

1. In the navigation sidebar, click **Fields**.
2. Click **\+ Add field**.
3. Enter a unique name for the field.
4. Optionally, add helper text to give users guidance when they enter a value for the field.
5. Select a field type. For a list of available field types, see [Field Types in Agentforce Operations](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=platform.automate_afsc_fields_types.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Review the field types available for collecting information in tasks in Agentforce Operations.").
6. Configure the field options based on the selected type and your needs.

Agentforce Operations saves the field and makes it available to add to any blueprint or form.

## Create a Field from a Task

Create a custom field from within a task while editing a blueprint.

1. [Create a blueprint](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=platform.automate_afsc_create_blueprint.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Use AI to generate a blueprint by describing your process and optionally uploading supporting documents. You can also build a blueprint from scratch or import one from another workspace. Anyone with the Creator role can generate blueprints in Agentforce Operations.") or [edit an existing blueprint](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=platform.automate_afsc_blueprints_edit.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Open an existing blueprint for editing to add stages, tasks, automations, or other changes.").
2. In the blueprint, create a task by clicking **\+ Task or** or click the existing task where you want to add the field.
3. In the **Request information** section, click **\+ Add field or role**.
4. If the field you want isn't listed, click **\+ Add field** at the end of the list of fields.
5. Enter a unique name for the field.
6. Optionally, add helper text to give users guidance when they enter a value for the field.
8. Configure the field settings based on the selected type and your needs.

Agentforce Operations saves the field and makes it available to add to any blueprint or form.
