Before you start a workflow, you need a blueprint. For more information, see [Create an Automation Template with a Blueprint in Agentforce Operations](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=platform.automate_afsc_create_blueprint.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Use AI to generate a blueprint by describing your process and optionally uploading supporting documents. You can also build a blueprint from scratch or import one from another workspace. Anyone with the Creator role can generate blueprints in Agentforce Operations.").

Each workflow represents an instance of the process defined in a blueprint. A workflow starts running automatically after it's created, and team members receive notifications about their assigned tasks.

Note If you can't create a workflow from a blueprint, the blueprint might exceed a blueprint limit. A blueprint that exceeds a limit can't be used to create workflows until the limit is resolved. See [Blueprint Limits in Agentforce Operations](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=platform.automate_afsc_blueprint_limits.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Blueprints have limits on the number of tasks, fields, and form items they can contain. These limits help you avoid the performance issues that come with oversized blueprints.").

## Create a Workflow from Anywhere

Use the global create button to start a workflow from any page in Agentforce Operations.

1. In the navigation sidebar, click **\+ Create**.
2. Click **Workflow**.
3. Under the **From a blueprint** section, search for and select a blueprint.
4. Enter workflow details for this specific workflow instance.

Which fields to fill out depends on how you set up your blueprint.
5. Click **Create**.

    The workflow starts running immediately.

## Create a Workflow from a Blueprint List

Start a workflow directly from the Blueprints page without opening the blueprint.

1. In the navigation sidebar, click **Blueprints**.
2. Find the blueprint that you want to use on the **Published blueprints** or **Drafts blueprints** tab.
3. Click **Create**.
4. Enter workflow details for this specific workflow instance.

Which fields to fill out depends on how you set up your blueprint.
5. Click **Create**.

    The workflow starts running immediately.

## Create a Workflow from an Open Blueprint

Start a workflow while you're viewing or editing a blueprint.

1. In the navigation sidebar, click **Blueprints**.
2. Open the blueprint that you want to use.
    - For a draft blueprint, click **Edit**.
    - For a published blueprint, click **Open**.
3. Click **\+ Create workflow**.
4. Enter workflow details for this specific workflow instance.

Which fields to fill out depends on how you set up your blueprint.
5. Click **Create**.

    The workflow starts running immediately.

## After the Workflow Starts

Task assignees receive email notifications about their tasks. If a workflow has multiple tasks start at the same time and they're all assigned to one person, that person gets one email with all tasks listed instead of multiple emails. If a task is assigned to an AI agent, the AI agent starts working on it.

Task assignees can complete work directly from their email or by logging in to Agentforce Operations.

- To learn how assignees complete, approve, and reply to tasks in the workspace, see [Complete a Task in Agentforce Operations](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=platform.automate_afsc_complete_task_in_app.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Open an assigned task and submit your work directly in Agentforce Operations.").
- To learn how assignees complete, approve, and reply to tasks by email, see [Work with Tasks Through Email in Agentforce Operations](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=platform.automate_afsc_tasks_complete_via_email.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Reply to, complete, and approve Agentforce Operations tasks from your email. A summary of the task details and what's required is in the task assignment email. If you're logged in to Agentforce Operations, clicking a button in the email takes you directly to the task in the workspace instead of a web form.").

For running workflows, authorized users can update task details including Assigned To, Cc, and due date. To update multiple tasks at once, see [Bulk Edit Tasks in Agentforce Operations](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=platform.automate_afsc_bulk_edit_tasks.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Update assignees, CC recipients, or due dates on multiple tasks at a time from the Tasks page or from a user's profile in Agentforce Operations."). To reassign tasks or make other changes to a running workflow, see [Edit a Running Workflow in Agentforce Operations](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=platform.automate_afsc_edit_running_workflow.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Reassign tasks, add tasks, and update task details in a workflow that's running in Agentforce Operations.").

You can view all workflows on the Home page and filter them if needed.
