# Archive Field Level Security (FLS) Reports

Field-level security (FLS) settings in Salesforce are used to prevent access to specific fields in the Archive managed package.

Note This content relates to Archive. For Salesforce Archive, see [Store Data Externally with Salesforce Archive](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=xcloud.archive_overview.htm&type=5&language=en_US).

Archive Field Level Security (FLS) Reports aim to help Salesforce Admins ensure archiving is as comprehensive and accurate as expected.

The Archive FLS Report lists the fields for which the Archive Authenticated User does not have read permission. This means we can't read and retain those field values in the archived records.

## Run an FLS Report

The FLS Report is accessed from the top right-hand side of the Archive Homepage.

To run the report, click Run Now.

The report shows the number of fields found, the date the report was last run, and these columns:

- Acknowledge Date and Acknowledged By—Fields that you're required to complete if you decide to ignore (skip and not archive), instead of adding the relevant permission set to the field.
- Field Name—API name of the field.
- Identified On—When this field was identified as having missing permissions.
- Object Name—Name of the object.

## Assign Field-Level Permissions or Acknowledge Non-Archived Fields

To configure Archive access to field values:

- If field values need to be archived, assign a permission set with read and write access to the required fields. Or update the user's profile with the same permissions.
- If field values don't need to be archived, select **Acknowledge** to confirm these fields are excluded from archiving.

After updating permissions, to apply the changes, rerun the Archive Policy for each object. Then to verify that the updated permissions have been correctly applied, rerun the Field-Level Security (FLS) report.

Note We recommend granting the Archive Authenticated User permissions to all fields of the archived object.

If you choose to skip fields, please review and acknowledge.

To apply an Acknowledge stamp, click the dropdown to the right of the field selected.

Example Archive a Case Object

A customer wants to archive Case records to reduce storage.

The Case object has a field Case Parent Id.

The Authenticated User doesn't have permission to view the Case Parent Id.

When the Case is archived, the Case Parent Id field and value don't appear in the archived record.
