Anonymizing data reduces the risk of data breaches and helps your company adhere to regulations. Disguise data by applying an anonymization template that you create. Templates define the object fields you want to mask, based on the selected data replacement treatment that's available for each field type. There are two ways to anonymize data. Standalone anonymization uses a selected template to anonymize the data of a specific sandbox. Anonymizing data as part of seeding uses a selected template to anonymize the seeding source's data before it's seeded into a sandbox.

Mask object field values, such as name and street address, with custom replacement values that you define. For example, mask a phone number by appending a prefix, suffix, or both to all or part of the number. You can also use templates to populate empty fields with unique synthetic data.
