# Create Custom Account Fields

When a default field doesn’t capture the prospect account data you need, an admin can create custom fields in Account Engagement. Then, map and sync custom fields with Salesforce account fields.

### Required Editions

<table class="slds-table slds-table_bordered slds-max-medium-table_stacked slds-m-bottom_small permission">
        <colgroup>
          <col style="width:50%">
          <col style="width:50%">
        </colgroup>
        <thead class="slds-text-title_caps ">
          <tr class="">
            <th scope="colgroup" class="slds-cell-wrap" colspan="2" style="text-align:center;vertical-align:top;" id="d33783e42">User Permissions Needed</th>
          </tr>
        </thead>
        <tbody>
          <tr class="">
            <td data-label="User Permissions Needed" class="slds-cell-wrap" style="vertical-align:top;" headers="d33783e42 ">To create custom fields:</td>

            <td class="slds-cell-wrap" style="vertical-align:top;" headers="d33783e42 ">
              <span>Account Engagement Administrator role</span>
            </td>

          </tr>
        </tbody>
      </table>

1. Open the Account Fields page.
    - In Account Engagement, select **Admin** | **Configure Fields** | **Account Fields**.
    - In the Lightning app, select **Account Engagement Settings** | **Object and Field Configuration** | **Account Fields**.
2. Click **\+ Add Custom Field**.
3. Name the field. The name is used internally for identification and isn’t visible to prospects.
4. Select a field type from the dropdown.
5. Don’t change the custom field ID. This ID isn’t visible to prospects.
6. Map the field to a Salesforce field name.
7. Choose optional field settings.
8. When finished, click **Create custom field** to save.

When you map a new custom prospect account field, Salesforce account field values don’t sync automatically. To update all field values, trigger a full sync.
