When you edit scoring rules, the system rescores all prospects based on all applicable prospect activity. Keep these considerations in mind when editing scoring rules.

- Rescoring causes prospects to resync with the CRM and can affect score-based automations.
- If you have an automation rule action that resets a prospect’s score, the system stores the value difference. When prospects are rescored after editing scoring rules, it’s possible for a prospect’s score to be negative.

1. Open the Scoring page.
    - In Account Engagement, select **Admin** and then **Scoring**.
    - In the Lightning app, select **Account Engagement Settings** and then **Automation Settings** | **Scoring**.
2. Click **Edit Scoring Rules**.
3. Select the rule you want to change, and enter a point value. To deduct points, use a negative number.
4. Save your changes.

Rescoring takes place in the background. You receive an email notification when the job is finished.
