After you build email templates or email content, customize them with HML merge fields. Then, choose whether to send an individual email or add it to a program in Engagement Studio. Streamline writing time by reusing email content, or send and resend email content to different segments. Tailor the send experience, and track email engagements to determine how well your email content is performing.").

- **[Guidelines for Sending Emails](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=mktg.mcae_classic_email_guidelines.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**
When working with email in Account Engagement, keep these guidelines in mind.
- **[Build and Send Classic Emails](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=mktg.pardot_build_test_create_emails.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**
The classic email builder in Account Engagement guides you through creating emails and templates that you can use again and again. Always test your emails and templates so that you can improve your content. In the classic email builder, you can easily move between editing and testing your content.
- **[Preview and Test Classic Emails](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=mktg.mcae_classic_email_testing.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**
The classic email builder in Account Engagement includes tools to preview and test your email. You can send to test email lists, send individual test emails, and generate inbox previews across email clients.
- **[A/B Testing for Classic Emails](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=mktg.pardot_emails_ab_parent.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**
Send two different versions of your email to a small subset of your recipient list. Then use engagement data to choose a winning version and send that version to the remainder of your list.
- **[Reuse Email Designs with Account Engagement Templates](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=mktg.pardot_email_templates.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**
To save time and standardize your marketing content, create email templates for the types of emails that you send most often in Account Engagement. A template is a starting point for a list email that your team can use repeatedly. Using a template also reduces the chance that you forget something important, like a piece of branding or standard contact information.
- **[Personalize Account Engagement Emails with Variable Tags](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=mktg.pardot_variable_tags.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**
With variable tags, you can use content from your prospect records to personalize your emails and insert standard company information in email templates. Variable tags are part of a legacy merge language and aren’t available in business units created after June 12, 2020.
- **[Allowed Characters in Email Addresses](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=mktg.pardot_emails_allowed_characters.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**
Account Engagement complies with the RFC’s 2822 standard for email address verification for both prospect and user email addresses. Addresses with non-UTF8 characters, such as Japanese or Russian characters, can’t be validated.
