# Update Your User Profile

Most users can update their own personal information and email preferences on the My Profile page. Only an admin can update a Sales user’s profile or change a user’s role.

### Required Editions

1. Open the settings for your business unit.
    - In Account Engagement, click ![gear icon](https://sf-zdocs-cdn-prod.zoominsoftware.com/tdta-mktg-pardot-264-0-0-production-enus/5fef4d4f-9a34-45c6-8cd3-e3200b9eeba8/pardot/images/pardot_settings_icon.png) and then select **Settings**.
    - In the Lightning app, select **Account Engagement Settings**.
2. Click **My Profile**, and then click **Edit**.
3. Update the fields as needed, and click **Save user**.
4. To update your email preferences, click **Edit My User Preferences**.
5. Save your changes.
