Your Salesforce admin sets up Advanced Approvals before you can submit a tactic for approval. Approval is a separate check from compliance review. It routes the tactic to a reviewer for sign-off.

Note Routing to your manager is the default. Your Salesforce admin can change the approval workflow and its steps to match your company's requirements, so your approval path differs.

1. On a marketing tactic, click **Submit for Approval or Recall** from the highlights panel.
2. Enter any submission comments and submit.

The tactic routes for approval and stays locked while approval is pending.

If you don't have a manager assigned, you get a notification. Ask your Salesforce admin to set your manager.
3. To pull back a request that's still pending, open the tactic and click **Submit for Approval or Recall** again.

The tactic's Approvals tab shows a read-only approval history. Approvers act on the request from the My Approvals card. To learn how approvers respond, see [Track Your Approvals](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=mktg.mktg_pln_oper_manage_approvals.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "When you submit a program, campaign, or tactic for approval, it goes to an approver to review before it goes live. You can follow where each request stands from submission to decision, and act on the requests that others send you to approve.").
