# Create a Marketing Tactic Template in Marketing Planning and Operations

Campaign and marketing managers turn a proven tactic into a reusable template so recurring program and campaign work starts from the same tested setup.

### Required Editions

Before you create a template, make sure that the tactic is active and has at least one linked content item.

The template captures the tactic's setup and linked content as a fixed snapshot. Later edits to the original tactic don't change it. It also carries the tactic's compliance controls as definitions, but not related records such as tasks.

1. From the navigation menu of the Marketing Planning & Operations app, click **Marketing Tactics**.
    
    The ability to create a template from a tactic is only available within the Marketing Planning & Operations app.
2. Open the tactic that you want to reuse.
3. On the highlights panel, click **Create Tactic Template**.
4. Click **Create**.

This action creates and activates the template.
