Your Salesforce admin sets up rules that automatically add mandatory compliance controls to campaigns. You add any other controls manually, then send all the controls for review.

Compliance reviews check a campaign against compliance controls. This process is separate from approvals, which route a campaign for sign-off.

Someone requests a review for a specific piece of work, or a company requires a control across a whole category of work. Either way, the owner sends the review requests, and each review goes to a reviewer, who checks the work and notes whether it passes. Each record then rolls up its reviews into one overall compliance status.")

## Add Compliance Controls to a Campaign

Add compliance controls to a campaign beyond the mandatory ones, and assign a reviewer for each.

1. On the Governance tab of a campaign's Planning & Operations area, click **Add Controls**.
2. Search for and select the compliance controls to add.

If the campaign already has a control, then it doesn't appear on the list.
3. Click **Next**.
4. Assign users or user groups as the default reviewers for each control.
5. Click **Done**.

The campaign gets the selected controls as reviews. Because the reviews haven't started, the campaign's compliance checking hasn't begun. Send the controls for review to start evaluating compliance.

## Send a Campaign's Controls for Review

Send a campaign's compliance controls to their reviewers to start the reviews and evaluate compliance.

1. On the Governance tab of a campaign's Planning & Operations area, click **Send for Review**.

Each reviewer gets an email and in-app notification for their assigned compliance reviews.
2. Track the campaign's overall compliance status on the Governance tab.
3. Check the Compliance Status field for each control in the Compliance Reviews list on the Governance tab.

Each row in the table shows the control, Review Status, Compliance Status, reviewer, and date, with a compliance banner.

Each control's reviewer gets a notification and reviews the campaign. Until every review is complete, you can't send the campaign for review again. You can delete only the controls you added manually, not the mandatory controls that rules add by default. The campaign is compliant only when every review is compliant.
