Before adding dynamic content, add a data graph as a data source. Dynamic content isn't available in an email until a data graph is added. See [Set Up Personalization Features in Marketing Cloud Next](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=mktg.mktg_data_graph_setup.htm&type=5&language=en_US).

1. Open a message in Content Builder and navigate to the content area where you want to add dynamic content.
2. Click **Add Dynamic Content**, or select **Dynamic Content** from the content palette.
3. In the Dynamic Content editor, define the default content block.

The default content block is what recipients see when no rule matches.
4. Click **Add Rule**.

Choose a data source from **Inputs** or **Data**, set the condition (for example, Field equals Value), and add the content to show when the rule matches.
5. Add more rules as needed.

Rules are evaluated in order; the first matching rule applies.
6. Click **Save**.

To reuse this dynamic content block in another message, open that message in Content Builder and add the saved block from the content library.
