Have a licensed .woff, .woff2, or .ttf font file ready to upload, or the URL of a licensed font file that’s hosted elsewhere.

A custom font is a Salesforce CMS content type. Use it when your brand guidelines require a specific font that isn't available in the default font list. Fonts in your workspace are available to all content creators, so your brand typography stays consistent.

1. On the Content tab in a marketing workspace, select **Add** | **Content** | **Custom Font**, and then click **Create**.

![The Create CMS content dialog with the Custom Font content type selected.](https://sf-zdocs-cdn-prod.zoominsoftware.com/tdta-mktg-mktg_all-264-0-0-production-enus/e92be4e1-4bef-47a5-a11d-95f4ea1f7d7a/mktg_all/images/mktg_custom_fonts.png)
2. For **Title**, enter a name for the font.

To identify the font quickly in your workspace, include the font family and weight in the title, such as SG\_Bold.
3. For **API Name**, enter an API name for the font.

    ![Note](https://sf-zdocs-cdn-prod.zoominsoftware.com/tdta-mktg-mktg_all-264-0-0-production-enus/e92be4e1-4bef-47a5-a11d-95f4ea1f7d7a/images/icon_note.png)

Note After you save the custom font, the API name is read-only.
4. For **Source**, add the font file.
    - To upload a file from your computer, click **Upload**, select your font file, and then click **Done**.
    - To reference a file that’s hosted elsewhere, click **Add External Asset**, and then enter the URL of the font file.
5. Select **By uploading this font, I certify that my organization holds a valid license for this font**.
6. Save your changes.
7. To make the font available in published content, click **Publish**.

    ![Note](https://sf-zdocs-cdn-prod.zoominsoftware.com/tdta-mktg-mktg_all-264-0-0-production-enus/e92be4e1-4bef-47a5-a11d-95f4ea1f7d7a/images/icon_note.png)

Note Publishing the font now is optional. When your content creators publish content that uses the font, the font publishes with the content.

    1. Select the translations and related content to publish, and then click **Next**.
    2. Choose when to publish the font.

        - To publish the font immediately, select **Publish Now**, and then click **Publish Now**.
        - To publish the font at a later date and time, select **Schedule Publish**, enter the publish date and time, confirm the time zone, and then click **Schedule**.

The font appears in your workspace with a status of Published. A scheduled font shows a status of Scheduled until its publish date.

Example

The brand guidelines at Northern Trail Outfitters call for a licensed display font in customer emails. A marketing admin uploads the font file as a custom font named SG\_Bold and publishes it. Content creators then apply the font to headings in emails, landing pages, and forms, so that every message matches the brand.

In the email builder, a content creator opens the **Style** tab, sets **Paragraph Style** to **Custom**, and then selects the font from **Font Family**.

![The Style tab of the email builder property panel, with Paragraph Style set to Custom and a published custom font selected in the highlighted Font Family list.](https://sf-zdocs-cdn-prod.zoominsoftware.com/tdta-mktg-mktg_all-264-0-0-production-enus/e92be4e1-4bef-47a5-a11d-95f4ea1f7d7a/mktg_all/images/mktg_custom_fonts_email_builder.png)

To use a published custom font, your content creators select it in the style settings of the content editor. They apply the font to an email, landing page, form, email preference page, or reusable content block. A font published while the editor is open appears in the font list after a reload.

Custom web font rendering depends on your recipient's email client. If their client doesn't support custom fonts, it displays your fallback font instead.
