A brief provides essential information about your campaign. You can add a brief when creating a campaign, generating [agentic content](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=mktg.mktg_ac_create.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Generate, refine, and publish personalized, on-brand content and images for email, SMS, MMS, and RCS campaigns in a collaborative AI workspace. Ground generated content in your marketing briefs, customer data, and brand guidelines. Generate channel-ready content variations side by side, while applying personalization and localization. Teams can review, refine, and approve content and images. When content is ready, publish it to Salesforce CMS for use in campaigns."), or using the [Campaign Creation agent](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=mktg.mktg_einstein_copilot_in_mc.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Use AI to draft, refine, and generate multichannel and conversational marketing campaigns. Start by drafting a campaign brief and describing your campaign objective when prompted. View and refine campaign previews directly in the brief record for faster, more effective campaign creation. Use AI to refine saved campaign content directly in Content Builder, and use AI to analyze and optimize campaign performance.") to generate a campaign.

For the best results, make your brief records detailed. For example, provide a primary goal for the campaign, such as "Book a demo with a qualified lead," or "Reengage an existing customer to purchase a new product." Add KPIs, which make the goal measurable and tell the agent how to determine success, for example: "How many demos should be booked by using a unique scheduling link in a message?"

You can give specific calls to action with corresponding URLs that the agent automatically adds to content, for example: "Book a meeting \[at a specific link\]," or "Download a white paper \[at a specific link\]." Agent guardrails provide guidance on what to avoid in generated content. Examples include "Don't mention price or competitors by name," or "Don't offer a specific discount." You can also describe your target audience and provide key messages or ideas that you want to communicate to your audience.

1. In Marketing Cloud Next, on the **Briefs** tab, click **Create a Brief**.
2. Give your brief a name.
3. Add a description and other helpful information about the brief.
4. Add Agent Grounding information, which provides critical context for generating content.
5. Select a brand that you want to associate with this brief.
6. Save the brief.
