3. Assign permissions to marketers and other users. See [User Permissions for Distributed Marketing and Alerts](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=mktg.mktg_dma_permissions.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Assign the required permissions for creating email templates and sending Distributed Marketing and Alerts messages.").
4. Assign the permissions for viewing dashboards with engagement data.

    - To view the Unified Engagement History Dashboard, assign the **Tableau Next Included App Business User** and **View Unified Engagement History Dashboards** permission sets. See [Turn on Unified Engagement History Dashboards](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=mktg.mktg_admin_unified_dashboards_enable.htm&language=en_US&type=5).
    - To view the Distributed Sends Performance dashboard, assign the **Tableau Next Included App Business User** and **Send Distributed Marketing Messages** permission sets. See [Monitoring Performance for Distributed Marketing Messages](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=mktg.mktg_content_dm_monitor_performance.htm&type=5&language=en_US).
5. [Install or update the Marketing Performance Intelligence app](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=mktg.mktg_admin_marketing_performance.htm&type=5&language=en_US). This process can take several minutes to complete.

If the install button is unavailable, Marketing Performance Intelligence is installed already.
6. Add the **Unified Engagement History Dashboard** component to the record pages. See [Create and Configure Lightning Experience Record Pages](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=platform.lightning_app_builder_customize_lex_pages.htm&type=5&language=en_US).
7. To add the **Distributed Sends Performance** tab to your users' Lightning app, go to App Manager and add it as a navigation item.
8. From Setup, go to Lightning App Builder and add components to record pages.
9. Add components to record pages.
    1. To open the Distributed Marketing and Alerts window from a lead, contact, or prospect record, insert the **Distributed Messages** component.
    2. To add a performance dashboard of aggregate email data to the campaign record, create a tab, and then insert the **Total Email Performance** component.
    3. To add the **Send Distributed Message** button to the Campaign Members related list on the campaign record, insert the button from the Related List section of the campaign page layout.
    4. To add the **Send Distributed Message** button to lead, contact, and prospect list views, insert the button on each page layout.
10. Verify that the components appear on records as expected.
11. Optionally, configure a [custom Lightning Web Component](https://developer.salesforce.com/docs/platform/lwc/guide/reference-lightning-distributed-marketing-open.html) that opens the Distributed Marketing and Alerts window from anywhere in Salesforce.

After you set up the feature, a marketer can create a template and configure a flow to make the template available to other users.
