# MDP Create a Data Stream with LiteConnect

Create a LiteConnect data stream to upload a single data source as is without any manipulations. You can upload any flat file.

1. From the **Import** tab, select **Data Streams List**.
2. Click **Add New**.
3. Click **LiteConnect**.
4. To upload a file, drag it to the center of the page. Here’s an example of an uploaded file.

5. If you need to transform the uploaded file, go to the **Advanced** tab and apply a file transformer. See [Apply File Transformers](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=mktg.mcidp_data_streams_tc_transformers_apply.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Use file transformers when you want to transform a file that has special characteristics like uncommon delimiters, multiple sheets, or specific file encoding. For example, if a file uses ~~ as the delimiter instead of a comma or a tab, use the file transformer to specify the custom delimiter so that you can map the file correctly.").
6. It’s recommended you verify that the data loaded correctly before creating the data stream.
    1. To edit the table name, double-click it. Keep the table name short and descriptive. The table name appears when viewing measurements and dimensions, and when creating widgets.
    2. Verify that the date is correct. There are two date columns.
    3. Verify that the dimensions and measurements are identified correctly. If a column isn’t identified correctly, click the cube icon to the right of the field and change the selection.
    4. To change a column name, click it and edit.
    5. To change a formula, click the dropdown next to the column name and select **Edit Formula**.
    6. To apply advanced settings to the LiteConnect data stream, at the bottom of the Data Stream page, click **Advanced**. For more information, see [Advanced Settings in Data Streams](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=mktg.mcidp_data_adv_streams.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Define advanced settings to your data stream to select load modes, load rules, or configure additional settings. The available settings vary based on the type of data stream that you’re creating.").
7. If you’re satisfied with the results, click **Save** and create the data stream. A new collection is created.
8. To view the new collection, click **Show Me** or go to the **Visualize** tab. All LiteConnect collections appear under **LiteConnect Previews**.

- **[MDP Add Fields to a LiteConnect Data Stream](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=mktg.mcidp_data_streams_lite_create_add.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**
You can add fields that don’t exist in the source data. Define the new fields by either applying code that is based on the existing columns or creating a new value.
- **[MDP Date Values in LiteConnect Data Streams](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=mktg.mcidp_data_streams_lite_create_dates.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**
A LiteConnect data stream has two date columns. The date changes according to the source data.
