# MDP Update Data in API Data Streams

You have two options to update the data in an API data stream after it’s been created: Re-process and Re-run.

- **[MDP Re-process Data in API Data Streams](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=mktg.mcidp_data_streams_api_reprocess.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**
Re-process is a common action that updates the data within a selected data stream. The most popular use for Re-process is when a dataset changes on the platform’s side, such as Facebook, and the user wants to pull the update back to Marketing Cloud Intelligence Data Pipelines. This action proactively pulls the new data instead of waiting for a scheduled update to take place (if applicable).
- **[MDP Re-run Data in API Data Streams](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=mktg.mcidp_data_streams_api_rerun.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**
Re-run doesn’t initiate the retrieval of new data into the data stream, it reruns the data stream’s existing data.
