# MDP Define Additional Settings to a Data Stream

Define additional settings to your data stream, such as ignore empty rows, execute only when part of a workflow and more. The settings are dynamic according to the data stream type you’re creating or editing.

1. Navigate to the **Import** tab.
2. Expand **Data Streams List**.
3. Create a data stream or edit an existing one.
4. At the bottom of the Data Stream page, click **Advanced**.
5. Scroll to the **More Options** section.

Here are the options for defining a TotalConnect data stream:

- **Override Media Buy Hierarchy** — Overrides media buy, campaign, and site entity keys every time new data is loaded. (This option appears only if the Media Buy entity is included in the data stream type.)
- **Ignore empty rows** — Ignores rows that don’t contain measurement data.
- **Use account culture settings** — Converts numerical values according to how they’re defined at the account level.
- **Execute only as part of a workflow** — Runs the data stream as part of a workflow, not individually.
- **Wildcard Match in Compressed File** — Sets a wildcard to instruct the data stream which file to pick from the archive. (Use an asterisk (\*) to pick the first file.)

Here are the options for defining an API data stream:

- **Override Media Buy Hierarchy** — Overrides media buy, campaign, and site entity keys every time new data is loaded. (This option appears only if the Media Buy entity is included in the data stream type. )
- **Ignore empty rows** — Ignores rows that don’t contain measurement data.
- **Execute only as part of a workflow** – Runs the data stream as part of a workflow, not individually.
- **Include today’s data in retrieval** — Pulls the most recent API data available, retrieving data with 0 lag days. Depending on the time of day that the data is pulled, you can receive an incomplete data set for today’s date. (This option doesn’t appear with all API connectors.)
- **Only update dimensions** — Applies when your data includes only dimensions.
