# MDP Create a Load Rule

Data load rules filter out unwanted data before you upload data to Marketing Cloud Intelligence Data Pipelines. After you create load rules, they can be applied to data streams.

1. Navigate to the **Import** tab.
2. Expand **Data Streams List**.
3. Expand **Data Load Rules**.
4. Click **Add New**.
5. In the **General** section, add this information:

    - **Name** – Name your load rule.
    - **Match Action** – Select the matching action to use. These match types are available:
        - **Include Rows** – Only data that matches the dimension values defined in the filter is uploaded.
        - **Delete Measurements** – Measurements are removed from the data according to the filter.
        - **Fail the Entire Load** – Any new raw file that meets the criteria doesn’t upload.
    - **Description** – Enter a description to describe what the load rule does.
    - **Date Range** – Enter a data range so that only data that meets the date range is added to the data stream.
    - **Filter Rows Without Measurement Data** – Exclude rows without measurement data. If a row contains “0” or “null”, it isn’t uploaded.
6. In the filters area, define the criteria. (If filters exist, they appear here and can be modified.)
7. To create a new filter, click **Add Filter**.

Define the filter’s details. For example, to exclude a specific campaign, set **Campaign Name** as the dimension, choose **Not Equals**, and enter the campaign name.
