# Create a Database Export

Create a database export to export marketing data from Marketing Cloud Intelligence Data Pipelines, and import it to an external database. Select the criteria that you want to export, define scheduling to determine when the export occurs, and map the source data fields to the database fields.

Before creating a database export, configure the database you’re connecting to. This is done in the Integrations tab. For more information see [Adding or Editing Database Integrations](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=mktg.mcidp_anlyz_export_add_int.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Configure an external database to import data from Marketing Cloud Intelligence Data Pipelines. You configure the database before creating a database export. The user whose credentials are used when connecting to the database must have INSERT and DELETE permissions for at least one table in the database.").

1. From the **Export** tab, select **Database Exports**.
2. Click **Create New**.
3. Define the data that you want to export.
4. Map the source data fields to the destination database fields.
5. Configure the database export feed.
6. Save your work, and run the export.
