# Configure the Destination Database and Connect Data

Set the external database where you’re exporting the data to. Databases are configured in Workspace Integrations. Configure the database first, and then you can select it.

For more information, see [Adding or Editing Database Integrations](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=mktg.mcidp_anlyz_export_add_int.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Configure an external database to import data from Marketing Cloud Intelligence Data Pipelines. You configure the database before creating a database export. The user whose credentials are used when connecting to the database must have INSERT and DELETE permissions for at least one table in the database.").

After you connect to the database, map the fields from your source data to the database fields to ensure that the data is connected properly.

1. From the **Export** tab, select **Database Exports**.
2. Create a database export, or edit one.
3. At the bottom of the page, select **Map to Destination**.
4. In the **Destination Database** area, select the database that you’re exporting to.
5. After you connect to a database, all tables in the database that the user has INSERT and DELETE permissions for are available for selection.
6. Select the table that you’re connecting to. After you select a table, all available fields appear in the **Mapping** area farther down the page. The fields change according to the table that you select.
7. In the **Mapping** area, map fields from the dataset to the required field in the database. For example, map the measurement Website Clicks to Clicks.
8. Repeat this step for all dimensions and measurements that you want to map.
9. To move onto the next step, click **Next**.
