# Cancel a Running ETL Job

With proper Feed role permission settings, you can cancel a running ETL job.

### Required Editions

<table class="slds-table slds-table_bordered slds-max-medium-table_stacked slds-m-bottom_small permission">
        <colgroup>
          <col style="width:50%">
          <col style="width:50%">
        </colgroup>
        <thead class="slds-text-title_caps ">
          <tr class="">
            <th scope="colgroup" class="slds-cell-wrap" colspan="2" style="text-align:center;vertical-align:top;" id="d94120e38">Permissions Needed</th>
          </tr>
        </thead>
        <tbody>
          <tr class="">
            <td data-label="Permissions Needed" class="slds-cell-wrap" style="vertical-align:top;" headers="d94120e38 ">To cancel a running ETL job:</td>

            <td class="slds-cell-wrap" style="vertical-align:top;" headers="d94120e38 ">Feeds role with Cancel permissions</td>

          </tr>
        </tbody>
      </table>

When canceling a running ETL job, keep these considerations in mind:

- The ability to cancel a running ETL job requires a Feeds role with Cancel permissions enabled. See [Verify Feeds Role Permission Settings](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=mktg.mc_pers_etl_feeds_role_perm_verify.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "To cancel running ETL jobs or manage feed files, ensure that the Cancel permission for the Feeds role is enabled.").
- Before canceling a running ETL job, you must first disable the feed. Trying to cancel a job while the feed is enabled results in a prompt to disable the feed first. See [Disable or Re-Enable an ETL Feed](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=mktg.mc_pers_etl_feeds_disable_or_reenable.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Before you can cancel a running ETL job, you must first disable the ETL feed. You can re-enable a disabled ETL feed at any time.").
- Canceling an ETL job can affect the job files. See [How Canceled Files are Affected](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=mktg.mc_pers_etl_canceled_file_affects.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "How canceled files are affected depends on the state of the job at the time it’s canceled.").

To cancel a running ETL job:

1. From the main navigation, select **Feeds** | **Feeds Dashboard**.
2. Click the feed type that contains the running job that you want to cancel.
3. Select the running job from the job list.
4. Click the **Cancel Job** button that appears next to **Review Execution**.
