# Get Started in MobilePush in Marketing Cloud Engagement

MobilePush is included in Corporate and Enterprise editions. These prerequisites are required before push notifications can be sent to devices from Marketing Cloud Engagement.

## For App Developers

Before you can use MobilePush, ask your app developer to follow these required steps to [implement the MobilePush SDK](https://developer.salesforce.com/docs/marketing/mobilepush/guide/overview.html).

1. [Provision Android devices.](https://developer.salesforce.com/docs/marketing/mobilepush/guide/prerequisites.html#provision-your-app-for-push-with-google-firebase)
2. [Provision iOS devices.](https://developer.salesforce.com/docs/marketing/mobilepush/guide/prerequisites.html#provision-your-app-for-push-with-apple)
3. [Create an app in MobilePush](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=mktg.mc_mp_create_app_in_mobilepush.htm&language=en_US). This step makes your app available in the MobilePush application. Also, MobilePush tells Google and Apple that MobilePush can send messages to your mobile app on users’ devices.

Note Note the app ID, access token, and the autogenerated app endpoint. Copy the app endpoint into your project using the [latest SDK](https://developer.salesforce.com/docs/marketing/mobilepush/guide/change-log.html).
4. Integrate the MobilePush SDK in your app: [Android](https://developer.salesforce.com/docs/marketing/mobilepush/guide/android-sdk-integration.html) and [iOS](https://developer.salesforce.com/docs/marketing/mobilepush/guide/ios-sdk-integration.html). To use MobilePush, integrate your app with the MobilePush SDK.

## For Marketers

After your app developer finishes implementing the MobilePush SDK, your mobile app appears in the MobilePush application. Now, immediately send a test push notification.

1. In the app switcher, hover over your name and click **Setup**.
2. Search for MobilePush.
3. [Create an audience](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=mktg.mc_mp_create_an_audience.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "In MobilePush, an audience is a group of contacts that you can send a notification or message to.").
    1. [Import contacts](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=mktg.mc_mp_import_contacts_to_a_standard_list_or_into_all_contacts.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "In MobilePush, import contacts into a standard list or into All Contacts using these instructions."). The imported list has the contacts that you want in MobilePush to eventually send messages to.
    2. [Create a filtered list of contacts](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=mktg.mc_mp_create_a_filtered_list_using_tags.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Select which tag values to filter a list by when you create a filtered list in MobilePush, just like you select attributes or data extension values. For example, select the tag hiking to send hiking-related messages to contacts. You can combine tags to send messages to combined groups of contacts. For example, send the same message to fishing and boating audiences who could be interested in the same content."). A filtered list includes the contacts that you want to send a specific message to.
4. [Create and send a push notification](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=mktg.mc_mp_outbound_message.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Use the Outbound Message template in MobilePush to send a push message to mobile devices based on demographic attributes.").
5. [Review message activity](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=mktg.mc_mp_review_specific_message_activity.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "After you send, schedule, or activate a message in MobilePush, you can review information about that message's activity."). Later, review the number of messages sent and the percent opened.
