# Data Extension Sends in MobilePush

Improve audience segmentation and filtering for your MobilePush messages with attributes and information stored in data extensions. When you send to a data extension, you can reach audiences in multiple channels and use existing data extensions for sends rather than creating lists from scratch. You can further personalize messages using data from your data extension that is not included in the Contact data.

Note You do not have to select an app when you create your MobilePush data extension. The app is selected during the send process.

1. Create a data extension in Contact Builder with your preferred contacts.

    Note To use data extensions in MobilePush, mark your data extension as sendable and use Subscriber Key for the send relationship.
2. In MobilePush, select the data extension audience type when you create your message (Schedule and Automation only). If using Journey Builder, select data extension as your entry source.
