This string is found on the beacon hardware. Enter the UUID exactly as listed when you create a beacon location. Also known as a Globally Unique Identifier (GUID).</td></tr><tr class=""><td class="slds-cell-wrap" style="vertical-align:top;">Major</td><td class="slds-cell-wrap" style="vertical-align:top;">A value that groups a related set of beacons.</td></tr><tr class=""><td class="slds-cell-wrap" style="vertical-align:top;">Minor</td><td class="slds-cell-wrap" style="vertical-align:top;">A value that specifies a particular beacon within a major group.</td></tr><tr class=""><td class="slds-cell-wrap" style="vertical-align:top;">Proximity Messaging</td><td class="slds-cell-wrap" style="vertical-align:top;">Proximity messaging uses Bluetooth technology to notify nearby mobile devices of their proximity to a Beacon device and causes the device to display a push notification.</td></tr><tr class=""><td class="slds-cell-wrap" style="vertical-align:top;">Magic fence</td><td class="slds-cell-wrap" style="vertical-align:top;">A magic fence tells the app which nearby geofences and beacon GUIDs to download.</td></tr><tr class=""><td class="slds-cell-wrap" style="vertical-align:top;">Geofence</td><td class="slds-cell-wrap" style="vertical-align:top;">A virtual perimeter for a real-world geographic area. Beacons use a Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) signal to broadcast a universally unique identifier (UUID) to a compatible app. Use beacons to send messages based on an individual’s location. When a device enters the range of the beacon, the device uses the broadcast UUID to trigger and display a message. Beacons provide a precise location around which to plan and execute your marketing activities. Because you know the exact location of the beacon, you can tailor your messages to better target your mobile app users.")
