# Beacon Best Practices

A list of recommendations to help you successfully implement beacons in Marketing Cloud MobilePush.

- Place beacon hardware at least 30 feet apart.
- Generally, use the highest possible Transmit Power setting. If you use multiple beacons in the same area, consider lowering the Transmit Power setting to avoid overlapping with other beacons. Refer to information from the beacon manufacturer to set Transmit Power.
    - Low Transmit Power Example: If you set up one beacon in the produce section of a grocery store and another beacon in the deli section, lower the Transmit Power setting. This prevents both the produce message and the deli message from being triggered in both places.
    - High Transmit Power Example: If you set up beacons at two ends of a large stadium and in the stadium parking lot, it is likely that they will be far enough apart to use a higher Transmit Power setting.
- We recommend that you limit your messages to one message per hour. Set message limits when you create a beacon message.
