# Create Messages in MobileConnect

Use one of the templates in Marketing Cloud Engagement.

After the message is created, it takes several minutes to activate, send, or schedule the message.

Tip To test a message, click **Perform Test** to activate the keyword and confirmation message for 60 minutes. When you text that keyword to the code, you receive the confirmation message.
