# Delete a Shared Template

Users with Create/Edit permission in Journey Builder can delete shared templates from a business unit. When you delete a shared template, it is no longer available to any business unit. Existing journeys created from the template are not affected.

1. Click **Templates**.
2. Click **My Templates**.
3. Click ![the Edit icon](https://sf-zdocs-cdn-prod.zoominsoftware.com/tdta-mktg-mc_journeys_and_automations-264-0-0-production-enus/e08cdd71-c1c1-4ae5-a5e9-8a6dad583ad4/mc_journeys_and_automations/images/mc_jb_edit_icon_pencil.jpg).

    Note Clicking the template card anywhere but ![the Edit icon](https://sf-zdocs-cdn-prod.zoominsoftware.com/tdta-mktg-mc_journeys_and_automations-264-0-0-production-enus/e08cdd71-c1c1-4ae5-a5e9-8a6dad583ad4/mc_journeys_and_automations/images/mc_jb_edit_icon_pencil.jpg) opens the template in journey mode. If you accidentally open the template in journey mode, click **Change Template**, then click ![the Edit icon](https://sf-zdocs-cdn-prod.zoominsoftware.com/tdta-mktg-mc_journeys_and_automations-264-0-0-production-enus/e08cdd71-c1c1-4ae5-a5e9-8a6dad583ad4/mc_journeys_and_automations/images/mc_jb_edit_icon_pencil.jpg).
4. Click **Get Started**.
5. Click ![the Journey Settings icon](https://sf-zdocs-cdn-prod.zoominsoftware.com/tdta-mktg-mc_journeys_and_automations-264-0-0-production-enus/e08cdd71-c1c1-4ae5-a5e9-8a6dad583ad4/mc_journeys_and_automations/images/mc_jb_settings_icon_w_arrow.png).
6. Click **Delete Template**.
7. Click **Delete**.
