# Setting Up Parameters

UTM parameters help you measure how clicks from your messages relate to activities on your websites. After you set up these parameters, Marketing Cloud Engagement appends them to the URLs in your messages.

## Channel Support

Links in your email messages include all the parameters that you set up in Parameter Manager, unless link tracking is disabled for the email address. In SMS activities, the Campaign Term, Campaign Content, and Subscriber ID parameters aren’t tracked.

Example

URLs that include UTM parameters resemble this example.

`https://www.example.com?utm_source=sfmc&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=TestCampaign&utm_term=MyLink123&utm_content=123456&utm_id=f521708e-db6e-478b-9731-8243a692c2d5&sfmc_id=245678&sfmc_activityid=598741568`
