# Create a Data Extension from an Existing Data Extension in Marketing Cloud Engagement

Create a data extension from an existing data extension in Email Studio. Creating a data extension from an existing data extension allows you to copy the fields and their configurations but doesn’t copy the data stored in the data extension itself.

1. Click **Subscribers** | **Data Extensions** | **Create** | **Standard Data Extension** | **Create from Existing**.
2. Select the existing data extension.
3. Complete the information in the Properties section.
4. Click **Next**.
5. Complete the information in the Fields section for each field you want to add.
6. Click **Create**.
