# Add a Distributed Marketing Phrase Block to an Email Template

Add a phrase block to your email template

1. In Content Builder, drag the Phrases block onto the canvas.
2. In Guidance Message, enter a message to business users while personalizing the content.
3. To provide a phrase that users can select when editing the email, click **Browse**. At least one phrase is required.
4. Select the phrase you want to make available.
5. Click **Select**.
6. In Selection Name, name the phrase.
7. Enter the maximum number of characters that the user can enter in the Phrases block.
8. To add more phrases for users to choose, select **Add Phrase**. You can add up to 12 phrases per block.
