# View or Modify a Template

Follow these steps to view or modify a template in Marketing Cloud Engagement Content Builder.

Editing a template doesn’t automatically update emails already created from that template. Deleting a template doesn't delete the emails created from that template.

1. From the content library, select the template you want to modify.
2. To edit the template, click **Edit** and drag blocks.
3. To change existing content areas, hover over the content area, click **down arrow**, and select **Edit**.
4. When finished editing the template, click **Save**.

To update an email that uses this template to the modified version, click **Update Email Now** from the email properties. The updated template adds content areas to the email for each edited template area. Review the content versions and delete the ones you don't want.
