# Interact with Synchronized Data Sources

Before you add a data source to Contact Builder, configure the original data source and allow changes to synchronize to Marketing Cloud Engagement. You can’t import data to a synchronized data source from Contact Builder.

1. From Marketing Cloud Engagement, open Contact Builder.
2. Click **Data Sources**.
3. Click **Synchronized**.
4. Choose the appropriate data source from Synchronized Data Sources.

- **[Synchronized Data Source Row Count and Progress Information](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=mktg.mc_cab_synchronized_data_source_row_count_and_progress_information.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**
Each synchronized entity in Contact Builder includes a status bar for the synchronization process.
- **[Pause and Resume Synchronization](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=mktg.mc_cab_pause_and_resume_synchronization.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**
Pause the synchronization process in Contact Builder to prevent further updates to the data synchronized from the external data source. Resume the synchronization process to refresh the data with the latest version from the external data source. Any pause or refresh performed in a multi-org environment affects all business units integrated using the same active Salesforce System user.
- **[Interact with Available Fields](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=mktg.mc_cab_interact_with_available_fields.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**
Available fields represent entities that you can sync with Marketing Cloud Engagement.
- **[Share Synchronized Data Sources](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=mktg.mc_cab_share_synchronized_data_sources.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**
Follow these steps to share Synchronized Data Sources in Contact Builder.
- **[Interact with Synchronized Fields](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=mktg.mc_cab_interact_with_synchronized_fields.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**
Synchronized fields represent entities that are synchronizing data with Marketing Cloud Engagement.
