# Enable Customer Segment Verification

After you've completed the setup that enables marketing managers to use Data Cloud segments as promotion target audience, select how the Eligible Promotions API must verify customer segments.

### Required Editions

Depending on which way your company wants the Eligible Promotions API to verify customer segments, complete these prerequisites before you turn on the setting:

- [Set up Data Cloud for Global Promotions Management](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=mktg.global_promotions_management_setup_data_cloud_kit.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Every Salesforce org that has Global Promotions Management and Data Cloud gets a data stream bundle with preconfigured Global Promotions Management-specific object data streams.")

1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Global Promotions Management Settings, and then select **Global Promotions Management Settings**.
2. Turn on Verify Customer Data Cloud Segment with Data Graphs.
3. Select either **Query API** or **Data graph**.
