# Create an Apply Filter Widget

Use the apply filter widget to update a page after you apply all the filters to the page, instead of updating the page values after applying each filter. When using the apply filter widget, click **Apply** after you select all the filters you want to apply to the page and the page updates.

<table class="slds-table slds-table_bordered slds-max-medium-table_stacked slds-m-bottom_small ">
        <colgroup>
          <col style="width:50%">
          <col style="width:50%">
        </colgroup>
        <thead class="slds-text-title_caps ">
          <tr class="">
            <th scope="colgroup" class="slds-cell-wrap" colspan="2" style="vertical-align:top;" id="d21285e41">REQUIRED USER ROLE</th>
          </tr>
        </thead>
        <tbody>
          <tr class="">
            <td data-label="REQUIRED USER ROLE" class="slds-cell-wrap" style="vertical-align:top;" headers="d21285e41 ">To create a widget </td>

            <td class="slds-cell-wrap" style="vertical-align:top;" headers="d21285e41 ">Admin and Power User</td>

          </tr>
        </tbody>
      </table>

1. Navigate to **Visualize**.
2. Select the dashboard and then the page you want to add a widget to.
3. To edit the selected page, click the pencil icon.
4. To add a new widget, click the **+** icon.
5. Scroll down to the **Elements** section, and click **Apply Filter**.

After you add the apply filter widget, these options are available within the **Data** tab:

- **Name** — Name your widgets so that you can easily find your widget when using other features in the system, such as Advanced Export. You can click the eye icon next to the widget name to hide your widget title from displaying on the page.
- **Text** — The default text in the button is Apply Filters. Enter the text you want to use instead.
- **Select Linked Filters** — Select the interactive widgets you want to link to the apply filters button from the dropdown list.
- **Highlight Linked Widgets** — This checkbox is selected by default and highlights the widgets that are linked to the apply filter widget when hovering over the apply filter button. This option helps users see which interactive widgets are linked to the apply filter button. If you don’t want to highlight the linked widgets, clear this checkbox.

Within the **Design** tab, you can customize the look of the widget, including the font, widget stickiness, and background color.

You can change the size of the widget by dragging its edges to the size you want and then moving the widget to the desired location on the page.
