# Highlighting Rules

Highlighting rules enable you to highlight values in a widget, allowing you to track specific values associated with measurements and dimensions. For example, you can use a highlighting rule to track the click-through rate (CTR) of a specific campaign to make sure that you remain within your key performance indicators (KPIs). Or you can use a highlighting rule to mark a specific media buy that you want to monitor.

- **[Set Up a Highlighting Rule](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=mktg.dato_visualize_widgets_advanced_highrules_setup.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**
You can create highlighting rules directly from the widget you want to add the rule to or from the Highlighting Rules section under the Visualize tab. To create multiple rules at a time, use the Highlighting Rules section.
- **[Add a Highlighting Rule to a Widget](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=mktg.dato_visualize_widgets_advanced_highrules_add.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**
After you create a highlighting rule, add it to a widget.
