# Use Advanced Export

Advanced export gives you the power to design the layout of your page before exporting it and customizing it for print, presentations, or emails. A layout includes a page’s structure and saved settings so that you can reuse it in the future. You can maintain different layouts based on your use case, including interactive filtersets, and only include relevant materials.

<table class="slds-table slds-table_bordered slds-max-medium-table_stacked slds-m-bottom_small ">
        <colgroup>
          <col style="width:50%">
          <col style="width:50%">
        </colgroup>
        <thead class="slds-text-title_caps ">
          <tr class="">
            <th scope="colgroup" class="slds-cell-wrap" colspan="2" style="vertical-align:top;" id="d38285e38">REQUIRED USER ROLE</th>
          </tr>
        </thead>
        <tbody>
          <tr class="">
            <td data-label="REQUIRED USER ROLE" class="slds-cell-wrap" style="vertical-align:top;" headers="d38285e38 ">To use advanced export</td>

            <td class="slds-cell-wrap" style="vertical-align:top;" headers="d38285e38 ">Admin and Power User</td>

          </tr>
        </tbody>
      </table>

1. Go to the **Visualize** tab.
2. Select the dashboard page you want to export.
3. Click the **Options** menu, and select **Advanced Export**.
4. Use these options:

- **Format** — Configure the file type, paper size, and rotation of the dashboard page. When changing the paper size or rotation, the width remains at 1,600 pixels and only the height changes.
- **Design** — Configure the display of the layout, such as showing or hiding the title, logo, date range, or background. When **Include Background** is selected, you have these two options:
    - **Fit to Page** — Applies the background image to the paper size you selected.
    - **Repeat Background** — Applies the selected image to the whole report while scrolling. It’s helpful when you have long pages with a background image that is smaller than the page length. Note that **Repeat Background** can only be selected when exporting to PDF or PNG.
- **Widget Options** — Control the widgets that appear in your layout. These two options are available:
    - **Hidden Widgets** — Select the widgets you want to exclude from the export. Use the dropdown to select the widgets you want to omit.
    - **Add New Widgets Automatically** — When you save your layout, checking this checkbox ensures that any new widgets added to your dashboard page are also added to your export layout.
- **Interactive FilterSet** — Filter your advanced export layout based on one of the interactive filtersets you created. When toggled on, you can select the interactive filterset you want to apply to the layout.

    Note that:

    - After you add an interactive filterset, you can hover over the **i** icon to see which filters are included in the selected interactive filterset.
    - You can create up to 200 layouts and filtersets per page.
    - Admins and power users can add interactive filtersets to layouts.
    - Viewers can see and use all advanced export layouts but can’t create any.
    - There are currently no permission settings on filtersets or layouts, but user-level restrictions still apply. If certain viewers have restrictions on specific dimensions or measurements, they can’t see the data.

After you configure your layout settings, you can start to design your export by editing the layout manually on the advanced export page itself. You can instantly see how your page looks before exporting.

These options are available:

- **Widget resize** — Hover over the widget borders, and click and drag to the size you want.
- **Page break** — Hover over the left-hand side ruler, and click to add a separator line.
- **Drag and drop** — Drag widgets into the position you want on the page.

Now that your layout looks how you want it to, you’re ready to export your file. You can **Schedule** your export or **Export** it right away.
