# Filtered Measurements

A filtered measurement is used to customize an existing measurement to include information relating to a specific dimension attribute.

For example, if you want to display impressions from an ads verification source, you can create a filtered measurement based on impressions filtered only by the ads verification source. The filtered measurement is a separate measurement and doesn’t affect the original measurement it’s based on. Filtered measurements can only be based on system measurements, not calculated measurements. Create filtered measurements with the Measurements tab, or inside a widget.
