# Set Up the Social Intelligence App

The Social Intelligence app provides an analysis of social competitive data from Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube. Setting up the app involves connecting your brand and competitor data.

        <colgroup>
          <col style="width:50%">
          <col style="width:50%">
        </colgroup>
        <thead class="slds-text-title_caps ">

            <th scope="colgroup" class="slds-cell-wrap" colspan="2" style="vertical-align:top;" id="d99641e38">REQUIRED USER ROLE</th>
          </tr>
        </thead>
        <tbody>
          <tr class="">
            <td data-label="REQUIRED USER ROLE" class="slds-cell-wrap" style="vertical-align:top;" headers="d99641e38 ">To install Marketplace apps</td>

            <td class="slds-cell-wrap" style="vertical-align:top;" headers="d99641e38 ">Admin</td>

          </tr>
        </tbody>
      </table>

To install the Social Intelligence app you need a username and password for the platform you want to pull data for. You can use your own login details because you’re pulling public data. However, each platform works a bit differently, so keep these considerations in mind:

- Twitter — You can log into any Twitter account.
- Facebook — Your user must have permissions to manage at least one Facebook page.
- YouTube — Your user must be associated with a channel.
- Instagram — You must have a valid Facebook username and password that are connected to a Facebook page linked to an Instagram business account.

1. Install the Social Intelligence app.
    1. In Marketing Cloud Intelligence, on the **Marketplace** tab, select **Apps**.
    2. Select the app, and click **Get it Now**.
2. Authenticate social networks.
    1. Connect to the social networks you need. Select an existing account or create one. If needed, you can connect to all networks.
    2. Click **Save & Continue**.
3. Define your brand. To avoid displaying irrelevant data, we recommend that you look at the social network’s site and find the relevant page first. When searching for social pages, select that page here.
    1. Enter a keyword in the **Search** box.

        If you’re searching for a page in Instagram, make sure that you enter the full business name, otherwise the page can’t be found. All relevant pages appear grouped by the different social networks.
    2. Select the relevant pages. The Brand Name card at the top of the page appears with the name of the brand that you selected. Each time a page is added, it’s also added to the relevant social network.
    3. To remove a page, hover over it and click **Delete**.
    4. To view the actual page, click the link.
    5. Click **Save & Continue**.
4. Define competitors. You can define up to four different competitors.
    1. Enter a keyword in the **Search** box.
    2. Select the relevant pages.

        The Competitor Name card appears with the brand that you selected. And each time a page is added, it’s added to the relevant social network.
    3. To define the brand of the next competitor, click the next card and repeat the previous steps.
5. Click **Finish Setup** to complete the installation.

Installing the Social Intelligence app creates these underlying entities:

- Data Streams - A data stream is created for each network and for each competitor. To help you understand what you’re looking at, a naming convention is used: “name of company\_SCA\_App ID\_Platform”. For example, “Nirvana\_SCA\_1873\_Platform”.
- Calculated Dimensions
- Calculated Measurements
