# Underlying Entities in Marketplace Apps

Underlying entities are created behind the scenes after Marketplace apps install. They enable the app to function properly. Each app has its own set or combination of underlying entities depending on the app’s purpose and functionality.

You can edit these entities outside of the app to change the app’s behavior. These are the types of underlying entities available:

- Data streams
- Filtered measurements
- Calculated measurements
- Calculated dimensions
- Insights bots
- Goals
- Data source authentications

It’s important to mention that underlying entities can’t be deleted as they’re vital for the app’s behavior. If for some reason you must delete an underlying entity then you must uninstall the app.

You can differentiate between different types of entities, by looking at the naming convention of the entity.

Underlying Entities are editable so that you can apply your own business logic to the app’s entities.
